Google Earth rocks...
I am a great fan of the Google Earth application and how it can be applied to visualize a lot of things easily, e.g. scientific projects, sampling activities and cruise results. Along with downloadable data on sea ice distribution in the Arctic, sea surface temperatures, surface chlorophyll estimates etc. it provides a great tool for research and teaching. (Besides from providing overview of the location of your holiday hotel, home or last mountain peak :-))
